2020 KAT-Walk & Karo-5K Scholarships & Research Grant Presentation Ceremony

2020 Scholarship and Research Grant Ceremony

Unfortunately, due to COVID-19, we were unable to conduct the annual KAT-Walk & Karo-5K for Brain Aneurysm Awareness. However, at the September 10, 2020 Maine Brain Aneurysm Awareness Committee meeting, we were pleased to announce and present four Scholarships and two Research Grants for 2020.

Although this “mini” Awards Presentation could never replace the walk with over 400 folks participating, we hope it provided an opportunity to:

“Share our Tears and Remember with Love”
- the families who have lost someone to this horrible and often silent killer
- those more fortunate and thankfully survived
- all the Medical Professionals that provide us treatment and comfort
- and the untold millions at risk and the more than 40,000 people that will suffer a ruptured brain aneurysm this year alone

To all of you out there, know that we dearly miss you. Please enjoy the 13-minute VIDEO below of this year’s event as we remembered those lost, honored survivors, and continued with our mission to raise Awareness, support Education, and fund Research.

Until we can all be together in person, please stay safe and healthy.

Over the coming weeks and months, please continue to follow us on Facebook. We look forward to seeing you at the Dance for Awareness in March and next year for the 2021 KAT-Walk & Karo 5K on September 18th.
